About the role

It's an exciting time to join the Finance team here at AXA UK, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform, deliver new digital services to our customers and streamline and automate our business processes. As part of this, we're looking for an experienced Finance professional to join the team initially for a 12-month fixed term contract, there's also potential for this to be extended to 18-months.

As Finance Implementation Manager, you'll own the design and implementation of agreed activities aimed at modernising and optimising the performance and efficiency of the AXA UK Finance Team. You'll take conclusions from recent external diagnostic activity and turn these into reality, shaping all aspects of the future team including technology, capability, and analytics.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home at one of our office locations. You'll frequently be in our Ipswich office. What you'll be doing:

  • Own for the design and delivery of all initiatives to modernise and optimise the performance and efficiency of the AXA UK Finance Team.
  • Lead the prioritisation and sequencing of these initiatives.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of initiative delivery plans incorporating benefits, costs and risks.
  • Build a team of resource from existing teams to support the delivery of initiatives, motivating and leading them to deliver alongside their BAU activities.
  • Understand the objectives of Finance Strategy pillars and collaborate to ensure they operate in a consistent way, managing cross-pillar dependencies.
  • Identify new areas for efficiency and improvements to process, highlighting the benefit and required changes. Drive through to implementation.
  • Ensure effective communication to promote transparency and common understanding of the workstream vision, objectives and initiatives.
  • Build effective partnership relationships with other Finance teams, and with the wider business units, with a strong customer focus.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing, practical understanding of the needs of internal and external customers.

About you

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience of leading and implementing a Finance change programme, ideally in Insurance.
  • Experienced Finance professional - Accountant CIMA/ ACCA.
  • Previous experience in a FP&A / Business Partnering / Cost Management team with a sound understanding of finance teams working to support business decision making.
  • Experience of working in a large organisation, operating matrix management and agile delivery principles.
  • Excellent communicator, able to build and foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders, with strong influencing skills.
  • Good understand of SharePoint Online and ability to create and manage collaborative contributions.
  • Proven ability to drive standards and provide challenge and improvement recommendations to ensure controls and standards are achieved.
  • Experience of analysing a broad range of management information, identifying recommendation actions and develop reports that drive improvements.
