You’ll design and deliver a variety of training and development programmes under the guidance of the Organisational Development (OD) Specialist. As an example, you’ll be responsible for delivering our internal Aspire to Lead management development programme. You’ll enhance the learner experience by creating engaging course content and learning material that supports participants reach their desired learning outcomes.

Experience in training design and delivery is essential and you’ll be CIPD Level 3 qualified with specialisms in Learning and Development or hold an equivalent training qualification. In return, you’ll get to apply your passion for training delivery to develop the diverse range of talent communities within our business. This includes everything from scientific to engineering teams, together with office-based and field-based colleagues. From creating compliance learning materials to Environmental-specific eLearning modules, no two days will be the same.

Attention to detail will be key to your success in coordinating and executing our expertly designed programmes and you’ll make sure our learning records are accurately updated within our Learning Management System (Cornerstone).

As someone that sees the bigger picture, you’ll work closely with our OD Specialist to embrace new learning and development trends and ensure the organisations’ future needs are identified and included in future plans. What will you be responsible for?

  • Working with the OD Specialist to make sure learning and development initiatives support the wider achievement of the four strategic focus areas of the People Plan.
  • Designing and delivering a variety of training workshops and programmes under the guidance of the OD Specialist.
  • Producing blended solutions for training delivery in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
  • Supporting the coordination coaching activities and
  • Ensuring all training programmes are effectively co-ordinated and resourced.
  • Understanding new trends, technology and best practices in the field of L&D, suggesting solutions to enhance existing talent management practices.
  • Managing relationships with external training providers where content cannot be delivered in-house.
  • Taking ownership of personal and professional development.

What do you bring to the role?

  • CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice or equivalent training qualification.
  • Experience in developing and delivering learning content through working in an L&D, OD or HR environment.
  • Experience with both online content design and instructor led instructional design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express information concisely and persuasively to individuals across all organisational levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain good relationships and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workload and manage competing demands.
  • Experience of successfully achieving deadlines and working without close supervision
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft packages and good IT skills to curate training material.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management System(s) would be helpful.
  • Any additional L&D licenses or certifications (for example, Insights Discovery or other personality profiling tools) would be useful, but not essential.
  • Experience of coaching learners in a one-to-one environment.
