Brakes are now recruiting for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Supply Chain and Operations division to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract covering Maternity Leave.

A key role reporting to the Head of Finance and Regional Operations Director providing strategic analysis and insight into business performance within the Supply Chain and Operations division. The individual must possess the ability to understand trends and results (at both a detailed and strategic level) and to identify vital connections between the two. This position plays an important role in developing analysis and identifying financial trends (at regional and depot level), understanding drivers of actual results compared to forecast and plan, leveraging that analysis into deliverable guidance/recommendations to managers and directors and securing the benefit of any cost out/efficiency activities.

We are offering a hybrid working contract with a blend of home-working and travel to depot sites across the UK (Central Region), so you must be comfortable and flexible with travel and commuting weekly to offer support to the depot leadership teams.

Accountabilities

  • Support and challenge the Supply Chain team in the formulation and delivery of plans and financial targets for Operations
  • Provide the depot and regional teams with sound financial analysis and guidance in order to manage their business effectively and to control/reduce costs/CPC
  • Collate, prepare, and interpret reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries, and financial statements. Ensuring timely insight is provided for corrective action as necessary
  • Manage P&L, Balance sheet and month end process
  • Co-ordinate the quarterly reforecast and Budget process providing detailed insight into any movements and analysis on KPI trends driving the numbers.
  • Strike the balance between profitability and financial rigour
  • Undertake strategic analysis to feed into the long-term financial plan
  • Ad-hoc research into factors affecting performance including trend analysis, forecasting and review
  • Attend meetings with regional and depot teams as necessary
  • Develop and manage financial systems/models (e.g., SAP, BW)
  • Carry out business modelling and risk assessments
  • Draw causal effects of economic data on results and forecasts
  • Supervise and develop direct reports

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

You will be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) currently operating as a Finance Business Partner or Finance Manager, looking to join a global organisation as part of your career development. We are looking for someone who will drive performance through insight and has the knowledge and confidence to understand trends and results. Strong Excel skills, including experience in financial analysis and modelling are essential as well as strong communication and partnering skills across all levels up to Exec level. A great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a commercial setting to use their experience in a senior capacity. You will be self-motivated and driven to deliver results and positively influence key stakeholders. Ideally, exposure to or a detailed understanding of Supply Chain and logistics is preferred
